It seems to me
You can't straiten out
A twisted tree,
Nor a Country
That does not want
To continue to be free,
That has lost its brilliant
Soul, giving in to rot
And debauchery,
Not condemning, true
Criminality, closing Eyes
And shutting, Mouth
In order not to see
Nor to defend,
The Brilliant Blend
That makes a True
Democracy.
A very discerning poem. A keen observation on leaders who do not possess the ability to promote the general welfare of the people and protection of their well being. A powerful poem well expressed.
Niche poem, Nicely written, I liked it, the word Democracy is utterly misused.5**
The brilliant blend that makes a true democracy' is a great statement dear poet.
4) profound thoughts on the ills of a corrupted government, indifferent society..5*s and MyFavouritePoems
3) But, as Winston Churchill said " Each country has the government it deserves". "A country that does not want to be free" can't be helped….
2) And Karl Marx said, "Religion is common man's opium". Today both these factors affect free thinking of the people, threatening the very fundamentals of democracy.
Democracy is under threat everywhere. The architect of Indian Constitution, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar said, "Hero Worship is the biggest threat to deamocracy"
It's still a whole lot better than living under communism! Under democracy, all citizens have the right not to be arbitrarily detained! They are judged by their peers...not by some evil autocratic system of so-called justice!

I would like to translate this poem
Sometimes people are blinded by the evils of corruption, embedded in the system, that they can no longer see the dark clouds hanging over the sky of democracy.
