What you create is a world
Where I fit in
A hand crafted doll house
Like the one I always wanted
A pretty porch with potted plants
Flowers tumbling across the fence
Yellow sunlight setting on our kitchen table
Holding hands, instead of forks
Cozy sweatered eves in which we stay sequested
'Til the hours make our eyes heavy our hearts full
Simple sheets in a shared room of romance
Long lasting looks and lingering laughs
No phone calls or cable (slipping under the radar)
Off the grid and giddy to be granted our silence
What you create is an unimaginable imagining
Where fables seem to come to life
Wishes do come true... a fantasy laid down by the heart is a corner stone of one's tomorrow... may all of your wishes come true.

This may or may not be make-believe but the images are so sharp and sensory and immediate that I was completely convinced this was a real place shared by real people in the flush of real love. This could have been an overly delicate evocation of an ideal space (which would be fine in its context) but instead I get the sense of two vivid imaginations united in creating (Let's call it) a Love Zone. Just in terms of the craft of writing, these two line stanzas are brilliant! I cannot imagine this poem in any other format - it's that polished. And the closing couplet is the perfect ending!
