What You Are Poem by Cee Bea

What You Are

The sun shone endlessly
and would, maybe.

maybe not

made no difference to me
I loved it for its worth
and was sad
that no one, appreciated
much more than now

It often winked
and reminded me
It was glad

someone saw.

giving me appreciation
more of the past
then expectations
or fear of the future

I felt it sigh on occasion
wondering if anyone really cared
if it was here, or not.

So I hugged it back
by sight and sound
or written words
telling it within
Yes, I love you
for what you are
