What We Want Poem by Sandra Feldman

What We Want

Take my hand,
We'll stroll thru life together,
That's what we want
But,
Some dreams,
Just gather, ever changing
Clouds
Some white, some gray,
Ever changing shapes,
Some sad, some gay
Life is just that way,
What we want
Often times
Is not,
What we get,
What destiny wrote
In its secret book,
One day
Or even what we wish
Our cards would say,
Life is like a Play
Where not always,
Do we get the role
The starring character,
We though one day
We'd play.
