What's In A Name Poem by Caroline Lazar

What's In A Name

They are tainted sounds
Lockerbie, Dunblaine, Tianen Min
How long to soothe the wound?
Coventry, Stalingrad, Hiroshima
When to say them without a shiver?
Culloden, Agincourt, Masada
There is no sense of scale.
One or thousands,
Death catches us.
