What’s Important?

What’s important today my friend?
Vital for you to do
If now abrupt your days would end
And death would call on you

Suddenly judgement would appear
Amidst life’s holy glow
Everything hidden will be clear
And everyone will know

Each evil sin festooned in shame
The filth, you thought to hide
The innocence you would acclaim
Could never be implied

How oft in life your way was wrong
How pleased you were alone
But Heaven heard your wicked song
And grace began to groan

Your secret deeds, no friend would please
Your nearest kin would frown
You gave no thought to bend your knees
To He who bears life’s crown

What will you, devoid of grace?
Without love’s guiding hand
When filthy before your judges face
You fear His sad command

Outer darkness may open doors
Hell’s fiery pit prepared
My friend, this future could be yours
If Jesus hadn’t cared

But Jesus cared enough to die
To cleanse His servants sin
Through grace reprieve both you and I
Eternal life to win…..

Your secret deeds; with the muse of life. Nice work.
