What's Human Life Poem by Francis Duggan

What's Human Life

The timelessness of Mother Nature her Seasons they come and they go
Her streams and her rills flow to her rivers and her rivers to her oceans flow
Humans only live for a short span but Nature will always live on
So many I knew in my young days back to the Earth Mother have gone.

What's life about often I wonder we yearn for fame wealth and success
So little time for calm reflection we live in our cocoon of stress
On looking back as we grow older we can't believe how quickly time did fly
Time does not wait for anybody so why should it wait for you and I?

The most beautiful looking young woman of the Town was a school girl a decade ago
In a decade from now she'll be fading time on her beginning to show
The hands of life's time clock never stops turning in seconds our lives tick away
And one day nearer to the reaper is the babe who was born yesterday.

The queen is admired by so many you hear them say long live the queen
But she is just an ordinary person though hardship she never has seen
The dreaded grim reaper will call her and she has to answer that call
She is just another mere mortal like you and I and one and all.

What's human life but a very short journey the reaper keeps rolling the dice
You hear some people talk about choices but in our demise we don't have the choice
But Mother Nature she lives on forever as the only immortal I know
And her colours they change with her Seasons and people to life come and go.
