What Once Was Will Be… Poem by Adrian Wait

What Once Was Will Be…

Rating: 5.0

Eternity unfolds in moments
Echoes and whispers spent
What once was will be…
In lengthening shadows sent

Yesterday's cares matter less
Wisdom reveals more sorrow
What once was will be…
Assumption steals tomorrow

Fear at the door, then knocks
Unkind indifferences unveil
What once was will be…
And what it is… to fail

Faith stepping forward, answers
Fears attributed retreat in flight
What once was will be…
Darkness banished by light

The Word. My scrip of joy
Faith unearned, the Gift
What once was will be…
When sands of time do shift.
