What Have I Done? Poem by Amy Stuart

What Have I Done?

Death is easy
Life is hard
Play the game
Or lose your heart
Choosing to play
I pick my cards
Play them wrong
Lose my guard
My weakness revealed
I become the one alone
I lose my way
As my life line is shown
Ties become intangled
Lines soon draw blank
My life is getting short
I have no one to thank
I have the world to hate
I have my death to seek
Drawing the knife downwards
My blood begins to leek
I fall into a mess
Of crimson red blood
My heart stops its beat
My body starts to flood
I'm losing my only love
The thing that kept me alive
Brought me happiness
Let me live and strive
I hate my own disease
My heart ceases to run
My mind thinks
God, What have I done...?
