What Do I See Poem by Anthony Acquah

What Do I See

I look in the mirror and see a reflection of me
A reflection I didn't want to see
A reflection that clouds what I thought I would see

Is the mirror cracked I ask my self?
Is the mirror covered in an invisible coating that stops me seeing what
I want to see

Is it me that does not want to see the lines drawn across my face like a railway track?
Leading to I not not where that just goes on and on.
The sadness portrayed In my eyes no longer any sparkle
Stares back at me.

No happiness just sadness
When I look in the mirror
What do I see.
