What Am I Looking For Poem by Katherine Perry

I don't know that I will
Find what i'm looking for
But I search even still
Here in my solitary world

Waking up from an eight hour sleep
I seem to be in a daze
Trying to remember what I dreamed
Before I get up and on my way

A day much like the days before
A routine that keeps me going
Days always filled with wanting more
Then to end without ever knowing

Searching and wondering what my life's
all about
What should I do, and where should I go
Waiting and waiting while time gives me
doubt
And scared to die before I'll know

Blending in with all the chaos
Wondering where they all go
Trying to catch up to avoid getting lost
With people that I don't even know

What are they looking for
Has anybody found it
And what if they think it's at the top
of the world
But still wants to search beyond it

What is it that draws me near
Nearer to the ones I love
Should I turn my back to the things I
fear
Or face everything and let death be
enough

So now I fall back and try to start again
In hope's to find a way out
But putting my faith in this world I'll
never win
Because this isn't what life's all about

For I look around and observe what measures
the highest
And I found that love is the key
So I now praise God' for he is the wisest
and a part of everyone I see!
