What A Tragic Loving Night Poem by Brittney West

What A Tragic Loving Night

With all the stars that lit the sky
And the moon that shined so bright,
In every night that passed him by
He put up that same old fight,
She'd thought he would have realized
The limits of his might,
The pain that lied before his eyes
He'd been feeling every night,
And have it come as no surprise
When she found him out of sight,
That he had not said his good-byes
Flames of horror had ignite,
Then all she heard was a single sigh
She ran towards him in her fright,
Finding that his end was nigh
He sang the song that they'd recite,
'With all the stars that light the sky
And the moon that shines so bright,
In every night that passed me by
You gave me strength and gave me might,
The beauty that lies before my eyes
I had seen you every night,
And have it come as no surprise
I find you out of sight.'
He slowly closed his eyes
His appearance no longer tight,
He rest there and had died
What a tragic loving night.
