We Probably Deserve More Poem by Charles Malcolm

We Probably Deserve More

I go to the movies alone,
hoping that somebody as lonely as me
will walk in
and put my face on the nightly news.

No such luck.

I come home
to a jar of pickle juice on my desk
worthy of a poem.

I guess that this is it.
