'We Are Left Running' Poem by M.L. Emmett

'We Are Left Running'

Rating: 5.0

~ for Don Delilio ~

Once you took those planes
changed their direction
and meaning

towers crumbled into
your rubble
and we all became
the falling man

or we lived
in danger
and rage

always running
for our lives
in streets of choking
bone dust and blood.
