War In Ukraine Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

War In Ukraine

Rating: 5.0

War In Ukraine

I don't understand human beings
The double standards in our dealings
I sympathise with the people of Ukraine
But, wish everyone had had the same refrain

NATO bombed Libya
It's obvious because they were seen as an inferior race
There was deafening silence
Loud cheering acceptance

Based on lies Iraqi was bombed
the whole Middle East mobbed
The list of countries destroyed by the West
fills a whole encyclopaedia at worst.

Whether you like what i say or not
The truth never aborts
Russia and Ukraine are neighbours
and have been since time immemorial

Their misunderstanding is engineered by enemies of peace
hegemonies tearing them to pieces
for ideological pleasure
ignoring the mortal dangers

Instigating a brutal tribal war
For, you must know,
that's what the war would have been called
had two neighbouring African states been involved.

I hope the war in Ukraine ends soon
I also hope poets can be truthful about doom and gloom
wherever it happens
whoever it happens to
for karma is non racial
because no one is special
