War Poem by Jay Lude

War

Rating: 5.0

The captain signaled it was time
Battle was heading my way
Insides twisting all around
Was that time of the day

Sitting in my battle station
Shooting left and right
Thinking to myself
This will last all night

Perspiring all over my body
I kicked into overdrive
I really didn’t know
If I’d make it out alive

With one last shot I finished
And I was almost done
Had one more thing to do
But I’d already won

Then defeat filled my body
I went from high to low
I looked around the room
Where’d the toilet paper go
