Walk Away Poem by Emma Jane Pearson

Walk Away

How can he continue
Living in this, unwritten book of lies?
As he watches the sky turn blood red,
Everything suffocates, burns and drowns
Him from his living, loathing soul.
He can even feel his heartbeat
Moving away from hers.
He is gradually falling away from reality.

Walk away,
Walk away,
Just walk away,
Just walk away now!

The light is fading into black,
The beauty which was all around is now
Covered in deep, destroying wounds.
He hates having to say goodbye,
For it will never redeem
The mistakes from the past
Falling down to return to the silence,
Always crashing, cutting into his heart.
