Waking Poem by Joseph D E Phillips

Waking

Bitter-Sweet Sorrow,
fill my waking eyes open
open
get up, my sheets of sweat,
get up fills my waking
eyes open to see the life
i was who am i? where
have i been alive at
all? the roads seem to be
traveled down the street of
truth is an illusion (or is it?
sorrow?) why am i so
sad? ness fills the gaps where purpose used to
be prepared for loss
fills my waking eyes
open! open,
you fucking eyes.
i want the truth so badly i can
taste this bitter-sweet in my lips so dry get
up
