Wailing Shells Poem by Adeosun Pelumi

Wailing Shells

Myriad of swirling emotions,
Deep misty voices,
Silently mumuring,
Cold touch of neglect
Seeping into unsheltered skin.

Bitter sentiments spilling
Like downward strokes of a brush
Painting a stream of incessant sorrow.

Unheard voices whispering,
Uncomprehensible words twirling;
A tornado of nonsensical thoughts.

Affronted shadows dancing
To a cacophony of silent music
Played by ghostly maidens
In stately raiments of nightmares.

Eyes beheld
The stygian party,
Feet danced away
With hips gyrating
To unheard music.

Dark time unraveled dark thoughts
The light is shrouded in black
And darkness glitters
In the sun's stead
