Visiting Our Summer Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Visiting Our Summer

Rating: 5.0

A windhover
hovers over
Windover Hill

stilling Time

as the Long Man
of Wilmington

strides silently across
2,000 years of history

visiting our summer
through the heat haze.

He appears to hold
open a portal

or perhaps
close it

in time...

(like a lift...going down)

a couple
all in yellow

in the distance kiss

as the Long Man
of Wilmington

smiles
at this.
