Victory Was Mine Poem by Monte Harris

Victory Was Mine

Life Manifested Into Something
I Could Not Control
Thought I Was Invincible
Until Faith Gouged My Soul
Nothing Got The Best Of Me
Til Life Took Its Claim
Victory Was Mine
Until Faith Changed The Game

They All Surrounded
To See What Life I Created
Conquering The Unconceivable
As Revenge Was Stated

As The Marching Started
The Worse Was Feared
Thunder Started To Roll
As Death Played In My Ears
The Rhythm Ripped Threw My Soul
Like Blades Of Fire
Satan Take Me Instead
As His Soul Was Retired

Climbing The Mountain Top
With This Look Upon My Face
Looking Back As A Last Regret
Before Taken The Leap Of Faith

Searching For Answers
In Life’s Disgrace

With Eyes Wide Open
Deception Had Me Blind
Looking Back On Life
When Victory Was Mine

Life Has Drawn Me To The Edge
As Jesus Heard My Last Call
As I Stand On Top
Ready To Take The Fall

With Wings Wide Open
I Soared The Heavenly Skies
Take Me Higher And Higher, To My Demise
As I Watched The Tides, Lessons In Disguise

Waiting For That The Right Time
As He Lifted The Burden Of Mine
“Only In Time You’ll See
He Is Right Here With Me”
As I Shed Tears Upon The Sea
Reality Started To Hit Me
Misinterpreting The Signs
Victory Was Still Mine…
