Vicious Cycle Poem by TerryLee Holcomb

Vicious Cycle

by Silvertung69

Caught in a vicious cycle,
of asking for forgiveness,
Always trying to make up for my past.

Pleading with my loved ones,
that I'm clean and hear to stay,
never really living for,
the joys of my today.

The things I think of,
in my mind.
Roaming in and out.
This war that rages in my head,
a thousand voices crowd.

Spending time alone again,
Good company's not kept.
Alls I want is to believe,
my soul is not dead yet.

As I walk through crowded rooms,
in torment I remain,
Then put a smile upon my face,
A mask that must be framed.

My only hope is through the steps,
the 12 I must ascend,
Learning how to live my life,
Then teach it to a friend.
