Veil Poem by Mushtaque B Barq

Veil

Rating: 5.0

What veil the night has put on
to hide the unwrapped gash!
What virtue woes and worries
put on to verify loyalty!

A veil, her tress on the Blue
a wail to put on sale my ache,
beneath every cut, a brook whirls
to rejoice martyrdom of a saint
for a martyr lives but under a veil.

This fog, a veil too protracted
like sighs of a lonely sailor
that at bay reaches not
but among cheery vapours
vanish not, but alter the form
and formless agony thus unveils
façade of facts.

Wreck not your edifice in belief
permitting not any relief,
be a pulse of the movement
running your esoteric world.
