Vannie
It’s a year today
since you left
forever
I haven’t known you
these last thirty-something years
and I can’t pretend
that we belonged together...
although...
but there was
so much -
wasn’t there?
- sweet and sour -
and sour fades
but now there is only me
to relive the sweet.
I cherish our final goodbye.
