Unexpected And Unfair Poem by Linda Brooks

Unexpected And Unfair

I thought of you,
Expected you.
You made me think I loved you,
Still you were unexpected.

I didn't expect you to
Sweep me off my heavy feet,
like a breeze blowing through fall leaves.
I've been hurt before.
Caring more was something I didn't exactly adore.

You came out of nowhere,
Like a bat on a midnight sky.
You didn't give me a chance,
To be better than her.

Still you were unexpected and unfair,
Not daring to care that I loved you,
You were just unfair.
To this day I still love you,
But will you still be unexpected and unfair?
The answer could be something I couldn't bare........
