Under The Summer Rain Poem by Kathryn Miller

Under The Summer Rain

Rating: 5.0

We have laughed and cried on the hood of this old pick-up truck,
Our talks weren’t ever really romantic,
Mostly about the latest news and about life,
But nothing serious,
We always felt the love without having to say it,
But we weren’t sure we could tell it to each other,
Because there was so much of it,
Until one day in summer,
While sitting on the hood amongst the field of daisies,
It began to rain,
But it wasn’t the least bit cold,
And as we looked at each other,
We felt more love than ever,
I told you I loved you,
And you said it back,
And we made our way down that lonely little dirt road,
Without saying a word,
Because we had said it all,
We had broken the ice,
We had told each other in three little words,
That we wouldn’t leave each other,
And that we had felt feelings for each other,
That don’t come by too often,
And somehow that was enough.
