Unbroken Heart Of A Broken Innocence Poem by Paul Elenora

Unbroken Heart Of A Broken Innocence

She laughed so hard she forgot sadness existed
She smiled so deeply she forgot the piercing frown's dart
She loved so hard she forgot the ravaging snare of hurt
She trusted so much she forgot the craftiness of man's mind
She waited so long without possibly imagining disappointment
She forgave so easily like her heart was made of stainless steel.

She gave with no fear in her heart
In her innermost being she knew peace
Without the surging need to know
all she knew was peace
All she anticipated was growing up
Inquisitively clueless
As time dawned on her
The wind of time devoured her innocence
Her heart lay bare

Innocence as a shield became ignorance
Every trusted eye looked in snare
every outstretched hands with a knife to her heart advance
Horrible Laughters raged the clear air she knew once
Yet she stands with a stained and battered heart of Holes

Within the shine in her eyes
The smile on her face
The strength in her voice
The softness of her heart
Lies a wounded heart
A cried eyes
Trust betrayed
Broken promises

Writing this is a girl who's Overcome
An awakened soul
Unwilling to turn the hands of time
With love in her heart for all
forgiving like she would to be

A girl who sings at the top of her voice
A lady who cries like a baby
Who loves like a woman
Who thinks like a queen
Who's nothing without God.
Who make her points
And cares less about rhymes
