Un-Prayed Answers Poem by Greg Oosterhouse

Un-Prayed Answers

I don't remember asking for a friend, someone to love and treasure.
Nor asking for some way to stop being shy and start expressing myself.
I must have been behaving myself, in order to be rewarded beyond measure,
Because one night, my shyness was put upon a shelf.

After that, I gained a brand new, dear friend
And started to express myself through the written word.
I feel that this great happiness of mine will never end,
The idea of being too shy to express myself now seems absurd.

I thank God for these un-prayed answers,
I shall be eternally grateful.
Now my soul floats like ballet dancers
For receiving these gifts by the plateful!
