I have known
only beautiful men

until...you.

Your are my exception
to the rule

only to be
with men

who make you swoon.

But your ugliness
(for me)
is beautiful

& I wouldn't want you
to be anything

...other than you.

I didn't know
whether to take this

as a compliment
or to be taken aback

whether to take this
standing up or lying down.

So I just
took it

on the chin
& grinned:

'Well...gee thanks! '

And we left
it at that.
