Two-Wheeler Poem by Anubhav Tulasi

Two-Wheeler

A blind lover of rain
With no space
to put one's foot
this is a world of lovers
drenched in rain the other night
this indomitable lover's
engine is frenzied, wheels frantic,
the simmering headlamp
blinks
Between the crazy lover and a truck
a head-on collision—
the lover's thrown off
whether he can rise or not
from the fall
The city newspapers play dumb
as the pages spent their entirety
in the name of rain
