Come home from
work

into this
perfect silence.

Shhhhh...see!

My child
curled up

against her
Mum’s tum.

Both of them
naked in the sun.

Both
curled into one

as when pregnant
now made into two.

I see my wife’s smile
transposed note for note

into my child’s
smile

as if strings had given way
to a gleeful glockenspiel.

I gaze
at my wife’s lovely face

decanted into our
little girl

like I was
looking at my wife

when she was a little girl

or if I could view
my little girl

as the woman she would
become
.
Even Time
seems amazed at them.

I kiss softly
(ever so softly) .

the top of
their curls

laugh

as two pairs of eyes
open...gaze

amazed into mine.

“Darling! ” whispers the one.

“Daddy! ” shouts the other.

You are such an idyllist sometimes - catching rare moments and stretching them in time... Two eyes of blue, yes
