I close my eyes and try to dream
of places we have been before
The times they end, and end too soon
I wish so dearly for many more

I close my eyes and try to think
of ways to be a better man
to walk this thread of life with you
occasional lover and permanent friend

I close my eyes and try to pray
a hope that you will always stay
Let the fates bend as they will
May our love never slip away

I close my eyes and try to sleep
count the stars and moonlit sheep
Tomorrow the world may completely change
but as always my heart is your's to keep
