Trying Hard Poem by Roselyn A.M.

Trying Hard

Rating: 5.0

i
I am not a poet, I'm certainly not
I am not like Denise Bekker, though she is my type.
Definitely, I can't be like Dr. Subhendu Kar
a brilliant writer full of love.
But I dream to be like Hasmukh Amathalal
Whose works for me are all five stars
I can't be like them, I'm just a copy cat.
ii
Who am I to be a poet?
I could do no brilliant pieces
English and writing are my weaknesses.
The truth is, with English I've never been clever
I rather close my mouth, lending an ear is better
Than to open my lips and be laughed by many
Is it not so funny? I am no one, but to dream is free.
iii
How can I create a better piece?
Most of the time I run out of words and I can't think
Of flowery words and metaphors that fit.
I just have simple lines, no simile, no idioms in it.
No, I was not born and aged to be like this
When it comes to writing I am nobody, I can accept this.
iv
I can only write out of boredom and loneliness
Seeking for something to sharpen my brain
Or I am just looking for someone to share
Just like Denise Bekker who send me message first
Though my works are simple and full of errors
I feel so delight, she praises me, I must thank her so.
v
I'm aware people has individual core gifts
They have their own area in which they're good at it.
But what's wrong in trying even if I'm in misery?
Hahaha, just give me chance please
Dr. Subhendu, I beg of you if I insist
Hasmukh Amathalal, tell me if I shall have to quit.
