Trusty Old Time (12-24-07) Poem by Bobbie Jean Wright

Trusty Old Time (12-24-07)

Tuesday's coming
I will be here
The train is set in motion
have no fear
The wheels are moving faster
the brakes have slipped
It's force is dragging me with it
and I've lost grip

Forward in time
never to return
the light blinds my memory
my cornia burns
Adrift in Monday's shadow
I begin to like
the pain of Tuesday's knowing
in the wake of Monday's night

Trusty old time
you must have known
wise old man that you are
the child I've outgrown
yesterday's moments I give you
my dear and loyal friend
we walked those miles together
please don't let our road end
