“trust” Poem by Lisa Visor

“trust”

You with your road less traveled convictions
judging my soul
you want me to earn your trust
while you stand there holding my heart
as I’m held by your truth

Here in this space
try expanding your thoughts
the universe allows for you to
but you refuse
choosing instead
to remain in dark corners
of life’s revelations

But here I am
naked and vulnerable
trying to oblige your request
and earn your trust
simply asking for you to take me as you may
and love me as you might
