Trophy Wife Poem by Lu Vernezze

Trophy Wife

Is she just a trophy to hang on your arm?
Not to care for
Just to polish
Who you just like to charm

Isn't she worth more than that?
Don't you ever think?
What would you do without her?
She could vanish in a blink

It's a common situation
But you treat her like a fool
You don't admire what's within
You men just sit and drool

But she isn't made of plastic
She's not a common tart
She happens to be pretty
With a very decent heart

You don't deserve her company
Don't deseve her full stop.
She just needs to find someone
Who puts her at the top

Why can't she see it?
It's as simple as the breeze
It's as if she cannot see
The wood for the trees

Well i hope you feel ashamed
I hope you learn to care
Cos i promise one day you'll wake up
An she will not be there!
