Treasured Moment Poem by Robert L. Bixler III

Treasured Moment

Rating: 1.5

Sweet summer memories hold me dear,
As I reminisce of your treasured moment.
Soft flicker of pale light brings me near
Your delicate skin, a dream’s remnant.

Strong hands run warming comfort
Of protective embrace, from toe to neck.
One continuous, loving effort
Ending with a gentle butterfly’s peck.

My soul breathes in your very presence,
As my body steals frozen breath.
Your heart has my life’s very essence
Locked away till we part, in death.

Father time’s haunting progression
Lurks ever closer, to steal us away.
From friendly courting session
To ardent friendship born to stay.

Through tumult, torrid ravaged sea
To soothing, tender wake,
Your light heart has guided me,
Your vessel, into safety’s sake.

As now our paths divide,
Your course opposite of mine.
Remember, my love, deep inside
My heart and soul is in every line.

No distance, physical nor emotional,
Shall keep my heart at bay.
From this breath till my final,
I shall love you every day.
