Travel Poem by Ojok Isaac

Travel

I was born black
From dust by God
I was given life
In the land of Africa

I went to Asia
And I became yellow
Yellow like banana
And I continued
To Europe
Leaving my kids in Asia

In Europe the winter
Made my yellow skin white
And it was lovely
Everyone envy my new skin

But then I moved
To America, Australia
And other lands of earth
I was white, my kids we're yellow

I then traveled back to Africa
Where it all started
And I called them monkeys
Cause I'm more human

Look with the eyes of a tiger
You're me and I'm you
The only difference is you're white
And I'm dark or yellow

But it was from dust
That we came and shall return
From the dark fertile loam
We came to roam this world
Together as one mankind
