Another day, another place, another time
speak those words of strength;
today belongs to those who grief
who upon their hearts hold pain
in depths shall sorrow itself never understand
how it settles within a home;
memories scatters its images
pupils gathers many recollections
no hugs, no embraces, no words
can comfort the loss of one loved
and lost forever to death.
Let your neighborhood rise up
on days of unity and prayer
nothing can overshadow the truth
no foe can replace the absence
when empty will be that room,
that chair, that bed, that plate;
today is day for grief
today is day of prayers
together shall we pray
though alone shall
a mother's heart weep for a child
who will never come home.
