Today
the night pass on,
welcoming the morning sun
the darkness vanished from the sky
the light wishing it a slow goodbye
then yesterday was gone
and it's time for a new morn
today slips in gayly,
and saw yesterday leave sadly
but today has forgotten that,
it is on yesterday's path
as a day as tomorrow is hoping,
to overthrow today's reigning;
so there it awaits patiently,
as the days pass on tensely.
