To Whom Veracity Is Concerned! Poem by Kondwani Simwaba

To Whom Veracity Is Concerned!

To whom Veracity is concerned!
I've been thinking a lot lately, sleepless nights at best;
I've been drowning in the abyss of my profundity,
Pondering upon the alteration of my ubiquitous sobriquet;
Because for everytime they threw stones at me,
I built castles in the air, guess that explains why I called myself a King;
So make room for all your fanciest umbrellas and,
Welcome to the palace in which I reign supreme like winter,
Wherein, I've been the foundation to all the lies they make up on me;
Weaving fabrications into discombobulating folklore like women's hair.
I've been the windmill standing firm,
To how they constantly spin the yarn about me;
I shouldn't be surprised because even I ought to agree,
That Candour is not for the sober minded,
Make haste lest you fall three sheets to the wind like a barometer;
But even in the most ultimate of endings,
This piece of composition is dedicated to whom veracity is concerned.
