To Vicki Poem by Peter Pacey

To Vicki

If I do stumble on my silly way
Will you for me forbear I pray
To curdle all your sympathies
But find instead a counterpoint to my mistake
So, like a skilful carer, intercept my giddy lurch
Turning disaster into a tidy waltz
And thence to a lovely walk in church?
