If I asked you out
And you said no
Would you still be my friend?
If I asked you out
And you said no
Would our friendship end?
To one day
Hold you in my arms
Is a thought I like to think
But losing you
As a friend
Is like losing the right to blink
I know I live life
Day by day
For a chance I’ll never get
All because
I’m too afraid
Of making this silly bet

If you think you have a chance at wooing someone into dating you, then your brain is probably telling you that you have a GREAT chance of wooing them into being your friend (after they've said no) . I think you've pretty much summed up every guy's thoughts before asking a girl out. Nice job!
