To Die A Death Poem by Cory Ruda

To Die A Death

To die a death, To fall asleep,
To slip into endless darkness,
Is this what it is to die?

Blood, fear, pain, sorrow, morbid sights,
Circling through your head at the thought,
Is this the feeling of death?

Why does this thing hold such evil?
Why does it's mention bring such fear?
It's as a wraith in mans head.

Nay, but death is a happy thing.
Releasing the spirit to Heav'n.
Can you not see how death is?

As this life is removed from you,
Eternal life is given back,
Or punishment within hell.

Never ending pain in Hades,
Everlasting joy in Heaven,
Both are fates of all man kind.
