Titanium Poem by G J Salgado

Titanium

Everything that once was is over now; it's disappeared
You don't get to see that part of me
What I thought I lost has reappeared
I've started over completely

I'll walk away from your sadness
The glitter doesn't shine in your eyes anymore
I'll let you walk away from my darkness
No more hidden fairytales, nightmares, or morbid folklore

It's just you and me
Nothing in between

No one to hide from
No longer hidden from the sun
No one left to dispise or to lie to
You'll forget about me so I can forget you

But I'd be lying if I said I couldn't see the stardust in your eyes
Or if I said I couldn't still feel your heartbeat after all this time
Everything we've been through
I'm still in love with you

Hidden beneath the surface of your skin
Underneath the moon is where we begin
We're right back where we once started
Maybe this time we won't leave ourselves broken hearted
