Time That Remains Poem by Timothy Long

Time That Remains

The relationship is fading,
The anonymous feelings between us grows,
Some things you can't do,
Just think of the blessed and more fortunate,
Those who have family and friends,
None which applies to you anymore,
Doesn't it make time seem pointless?
Too many things need to be fixed with little hope left,
Success isn't coming from me,
Yesterday was my time,
The future will recede me further down the line,
Hear what you want,
See what you need to,
But don't lie to yourself,
How did it get late so soon?
Time is supposed to heal,
Yet the grief is finite,
The difference between being left and being forgotten has long escaped me,
I have felt too much,
Do I feel in the wrong ways?
There is sea of silence between us,
Yet only I seem to drown in it,
It hurts to heal,
That's how I feel,
What about you?
Time can't remain forever,
Aching in one place alone,
My tiredness finally has shown.
