Time (From Young To Old) Poem by Jennifer Rosario

Time (From Young To Old)

Little hands there now are so big
where has time gone, where
yesterday was tomorrows dreams
the future is yet to come
children grow and gleam like flowers in the sun
grow so big and tall
having lots of fun
weeks and go by
they go as fast as seconds
they fly, fly, fly
all the children now are grown
they have families of their own
soon their children will be older
getting strong, getting bolder
time goes fast as day and night
just as families might

***

Look at these little hands
fingerprints in solid sands
Where has the time gone?

Yellow skies depart
as purple fused with red
lays itself across the sky.

Tomorrow is almost here
with every tick another passing year
Where has the moment gone?

Little breaths
First steps
Discovering the world.

Wide eyes,
Fireflies
Nature is at hand.

Lying on
green blades
misty, shaven lawn

Swimming in
blue pools
that cool the summer sun.

Thinking of
exploring the
vastness of the earth.

Relying on
this present time
to last a moment more.
