Time Poem by Eric Maffettone

Each day is blessing, with joy to be displayed, sometimes I wish time would stop, that my days would be delayed.
So many zealous emotions, and so little to despise, I know I must make time for devotions, and let my spirit rise.
The trouble I have was revolved around one thing, from the father I was made, and from the spirit I was formed, and thanks to Jesus, I will no longer mourn.
I was a wandering soul, incapable of true acceptance, but the lord made me whole, it seems like it all happened in an instance.
After many mistakes, and enduring so much, I learned his love is like a beautiful lake, he cleanses you for your own sake.
His love is unmatched, his name deserves praise, thanks to his son, I am now saved.
Thanks to the lord, I met someone special, someone who completes the other half of me, someone who let me see what I can really be.
She woke me up, from endless misery, gave me hope, and taught me to be strong again.
She awoke the part of me I hated, the part of me that hurt, she mended my pain, 'right under my nose.'
Never in my life, have I let myself be changed, but she healed my heart, and not only rid me of my strife, but replaced it with delight.
Now I can love myself, oh such a glorious gift! Thank you love, you changed my life!
In such a short course of time, you made me someone new, In a mere instant, I would gladly give my life for you.
I have all this to be thankful for, but one thing matters the most, my heavenly father, Jesus Christ, lead me to your door.
My heart is at peace, I know I can count on you, so I will say this with sincerity and contentment, I am yours, you are mine, and that's the way I want it to stay.
Even once I pass over, god gave us life, I will wait for her, just as I'm sure she will wait for me.
So despite the fact I'm in love, and never want to wait until dawn to come, Even though I feel so free, time must go on.
So with that being said, I am with you until the end, god led us back to each other again, so now I will tend to your wounds as you have done to mine.
