Throned In Splendor, Immortal God Poem by Mohammad Younus

Throned In Splendor, Immortal God

Throned in splendor, immortal God!
Born of your command Be, I implore thee,
Let me not wander now,
In the wastelands of the world,
And suffer in distress and anguish.

Manifestor of timeless beauty!
Here come and get me out of wilderness,
Holding my hand.
As you once before in eternity,
Called me to your presence.

Do you not hear my voice,
Beseeching you to bring me out,
Of the frustrating wilderness,
And to position me in your glorious Palace.

Hearing thy sweet words is my only longing.
Fortunate hear the Qur'an from you;
And swiftly walk out of darksome earth,
To your glorious heaven,
Where the angels stand in ques,
Waving their green flags, with bouquets,
Welcoming them back to the heaven.

Happily they get in before the Omnipresent,
All in smiles stand in his presence,
Wreathed by blossoms immortal,
I know I am the cause of all my suffering,
That is why I call you to call me back to you;

My maddening and misdirecting nafs,
Keeeping me chasing the fleeting shadows,
That tempted me away from your presence,
Into the wastelands of wilderness.
To you only now I cry, please allow me,
Into your sweet garden of presence.
