Thoughts Of A Disturbing Nature

Thoughts of a Disturbing Nature

Pazzesco

Someone once told me,
I should keep a diary of my daily thoughts...
I said to this individual, 'why should I now?
So, my jailers have written proof of the crimes
I wish to commit one day? '
I smiled, and replied: 'no, thank you...'
And as I walked down the hall with white walls
I peered out of the enclosed windows with bars
Into the surrounding forest, not knowing exactly
Where I was being held against my good will...
But then a large amphibian alien with gills
Swimming towards me, in a white wet suit
Came into my room to give me some pills.
I was transfixed on how his breathing underwater
Was like a giant codfish that had escaped a hook
Perpetuated, rapid and shallow... But then I noticed
That I was underwater too, as were all other nurses
And after a few moments my hysteria and euphoria
Subsided, and the water level began to drop as well
As my blood pressure too.

The large amphibian alien I realized was my ol' nurse
An LPN named Consuello, and I was on a Psych Unit
But again, although I had had a fall, and wasn't feeling
Well...

But I thought about keeping a journal, after this day
And knew if I did, there would be a future journal entry
About how I swam away for freedom through tidal waves
Of water gushing through the unit's glass doors that I would
Smash, making all the other amphibians escape along with me
To the surface of the lake we were all drowning in inside the forest...
The forest surrounding the insane asylum where sane folks liked to fish
And used their disturbed loved ones as glorious bait...
